Presentation is a part of quality work

Presentation is a part of quality work. Prepare it to represent you well

Do you already have a bachelor’s and master’s thesis? Then it is time to start preparing a presentation, where you will bring the commission closer to what your work is about, highlight the basic theoretical points and zoom in, whether in the form of graphs or tables, what practical conclusions you have reached

Remember that you should not be preparing a presentation in the evening before the state exams. It is an important indicator of your professionalism and here is the traditional “better seeing than one hundred times heard”.

Therefore, it pays to prepare your presentation so that it logically and clearly complements the results of your research and study the material. If you want a good presentation, it should include these points.

Introduction – What Does It Include?

Don’t forget the first slides. These must include the title of the work (at first, introduction slide), the name of the university, your name and the name of the consultant. What matters here is that you steal the job correctly and do not mistake the name of the professor you have worked with – this is rarely forgiven and forgiven.

The introduction should be followed by a slide, which will briefly and clearly present your work, whether by introducing a question or commentary, to see what issues you will be joining with the commission. It is customary that this commentary is briefly expressed in the abstract or in the introduction of the bachelor’s and master’s thesis.

After the introduction, there are briefly listed the points that are based on the work and will be included in the presentation. For example, for Shakespeare and his comedy, you should mention all the points from the introduction to the historical context, through the curriculum vitae and basic works, to summarizing the characteristics of his work.

The theoretical part must be brief

What is important in the theoretical part? Definitely avoid a slide with insignificant resumes, descriptions, or historical entries that you mentioned in the introduction above. All you have to do is say a few brief points.

Theoretical slides include the most important definitions, dividing, characterization, highlighted years if you need to emphasize chronology.

If you have a topic of bachelor’s and master’s thesis that deals with the problem of geography or biology, it is suitable, for example, a map of the area you are working on, a picture of a part of a human body, a plant or an animal that is described at work.

All these elements are interesting and create a visual impression that enhances the quality of the work and pulls the jury out of theoretical lethargy for a while. It is important that the presentation contains only those data that are directly linked to the topic of the practical part, or it is important that the committee is familiar with them. Remember that you have to develop these things verbally, not just show them in your computer-

The practical part – be specific

Any topic is dealt with in the practical part, it is important not to forget one important slide. Whether you have a theme level of hotel business in the Tatras or a literacy survey of first-year students, one slide must be devoted to what is the specific state of the issue in the area under investigation right now. This is the only way to link the theoretical and practical component to make sense for those who have not read it.

Another part of the practical part of the presentation must be chronologically and logically summarized slides, which bring the questions asked in the research, the expected results, the course of research and the difficulties you encountered in the research. Be sure to include all the necessary graphs, findings, most often answers or point out the counterparts your work has revealed in the survey results.

The presentation must also include logical and clear work outcomes, your findings, as well as suggestions for improvement, and open up opportunities for expansion and potential steps that your work has done in a theoretical or practical way.

Don’t forget what?

The presentation does not need to have as many slides as the average American film. Ten to fifteen should be enough. Finally, we should thank the Commission for its attention and offer them space for questions.

Avoid crazy background colors and combinations, atypical transition, and a font pool that even creators at Disney wouldn’t be ashamed of. The ideal is a classic black and simple fund in which you clearly distinguish headings and divisions. Do not use crazy and eye-destroying transitions, it is unnecessary, and it certainly doesn’t suit the commission in its 50s. When it comes to visuals, it is true that simplicity is beauty. All the more so if you have chosen a serious topic.
