How to Write a Case Study Conclusion
How do you always draft your conclusions? Do you consider it a crucial section of a case study or just a section that can be overlooked? Truth be told, most students tend to dismiss this section, terming it as being less important and ask about quick essay. However, this should not be the case since there are clear instructions on how a perfectly drafted conclusion should look like. Be cautious enough to follow the right structure. Anything less of that only takes marks away from your overall scores. Consider the following when drafting your conclusion:
Complex arguments: There are moments when you might not be able to resist using complex data in your body paragraphs. If this happens, it would be better to summarize them in simpler terms in your conclusion. This is crucial since your readers won’t leave with questions. They won’t wonder what you meant in certain sections of your paper since you made everything simple and clear at the end of your paper.
Detailed discussions: Your body paragraphs will always have to be precise – not necessarily complicated. You might tackle different aspects of your topic in several paragraphs before reaching your conclusion. However, all those points will have to be shrunk into a single paragraph in your conclusion paragraph. You can do this by only restating your main arguments and key findings in this final section. Your readers should be able to understand the key ideas discussed in the paper just by reading your conclusion. In general, consider this a re-cap of all the jargons discussed in the body section of your paper.
Special rules: You must always draft your conclusion based on your professor’s preference. For instance, some professors ask their students to end their papers with a reflection on the findings. In such a case, you have no option but to add a brief reflection. For those who don’t know, a reflection is an expression of your views based on the findings. You can describe your personal biases about the study. Just express yourself in the best way possible. However, remember that this is only part of a special rule that should be included if asked. Otherwise, you should not add a reflection at the end of the paper.
One last thing you might have to add in the conclusion paragraph is the study limitation. This is a statement showing what might have made it impossible for you to achieve accurate results. It helps other researchers to understand that your paper was not as comprehensive as you might have wanted it to be. It is a matter of honesty rather than feeling like you must lie for pride’s sake. Regardless, there is no need to include a limitation if there was none. However, it is almost impossible to conduct a study without facing any setbacks. Such setbacks might be as simple as not finding a specific crucial resource to failing to find audience with a major stakeholder in the industry you are studying. In other words, most limitations are always things that are beyond your control.
